FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) executive C. LeRoy Cavazos-Reyna is returning to the Alamo City to lead a new consulting firm – Localism, Inc. – focused on a local approach to national advocacy, international business, public private partnerships, and diversity, equity and inclusion. In addition, Cavazos-Reyna will partner with and work on national projects with Public Private Strategies.

Cavazos-Reyna launched his own venture, Localism, Inc. in August 2022, with the mission to help small minority businesses, corporations, and nonprofit organizations achieve their goals in different areas, including government affairs, international relations, procurement, and diversity, equity and inclusion. Localism, Inc. is a proudly certified Hispanic, LGBTQ+, and Disabled-owned business headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. Cavazos-Reyna launched this business as the result of an influx of advocacy related clients needing affordable, meaningful assistance to expand public/private partnerships globally, creating pathways to equitable systemic policy change, especially for the inclusion of minority-owned businesses to access contracting opportunities offered by both government and corporate America.

In addition to launching Localism, Inc., Cavazos-Reyna will be joining Public Private Strategies (PPS) as a Senior Advisor where he will also do national and global work. Cavazos-Reyna will help strengthen PPS’ work nationally and globally with the Latino community and focus on launching projects, including a new coalition to help make sure new federal economic investments work for local communities.

“As an advocate for small minority-owned businesses for most of my public service career, I am excited to use my skills and vast global network to champion these job creators, innovators, and powerhouses throughout the country and beyond. Grassroots and local impact is where all change starts and I look forward to helping our community’s businesses grow by building upon my proven track record in these areas of expertise,” said Cavazos-Reyna.

Cavazos-Reyna is leaving his role as Vice President of Government and International Affairs for the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C. but will remain involved with its mission growth. Before that, he served as the Senior Manager of Public Affairs and Communications for Coca Cola Southwest Beverages, a company of Arca Continental. He is no professional stranger to the San Antonio community, where he worked for the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SAHCC) from 2012-2017 and served on numerous community boards.

“LeRoy is a trusted expert in meeting the policy challenges faced by small businesses, governments, corporations, and nonprofits. Combined with his experience and passion for advocacy, his great leadership skills, and ability to create meaningful systemic change, Localism, Inc. and his entrepreneurial skills will help many of his future clients have a higher impact,” said Ramiro A. Cavazos (no relation), President and CEO, United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

While Cavazos-Reyna and Cavazos are not related, they are both from the Rio Grande Valley and have worked together in various professional capacities over the last ten years to evolve modern chamber work across the United States, Mexico, Spain, and Latin America.

As minority-owned businesses continue to navigate the aftermath of the unprecedented  COVID-19 global pandemic, solutions are now more than ever critical for growth. Corporate America is defining innovative ways to be more effective and inclusive with their workforce and community partners, and nonprofits have become necessary technical assistance hubs for entrepreneurs to evolve. Localism, Inc. will be laser focused on assuring that its clients are able to scale, provide critical services to their respective constituencies, and create business collaborations/coalitions that will have a lasting impact on the American economy.

Cavazos-Reyna is a Texas native of the United States (U.S.) border city of Mission. Throughout his academic and professional careers, he has been strongly committed to service, community development, diplomacy, entrepreneurship, and political activism by working with organizations and government entities dedicated to those very endeavors.

Cavazos-Reyna was recently appointed to his second two year term as Vice Chairman of the Texas Border Coalition, he serves on the executive board of Every Texan, is a sustaining member of the distinguished Texas Lyceum, the U.S. Spain Council, and the Small Business Roundtable in Washington D.C.
